The team you'll be part of

The Cloud and Network Services business group deploys, supports and operates communication service providers’ (CSP) and enterprise networks. This includes network infrastructure services and professional services for mobile networks and managed operations for fixed, mobile, IP and optical domains. Nokia is also leading new growth areas including network cognitive services and analytics, public sector networks, energy and transport markets and our Worldwide IoT Network Grid (WING) which provides seamless connectivity across geographical borders and technologies.

What you will learn and contribute to

Network Performance & Optimisation covers consultation of customers on communication network performance and contains optimisation and / or managing of the optimisation of customer networks. The Performance & Optimisation Engineer performs solution monitoring, data collection, generation of daily / weekly reports, and a first level of analysis and problem identification in a domain of the customer solution (radio, access, core, application). Performs optimisation in terms of capacity, architecture, performance, analyses counters, and metrics on current capacity and usage. Forecasts traffic patterns to evaluate impact on current and future architecture. Recommends parameters tuning and design evolutions.

Data Engineer trainee:

  • Priorities:
    • Ability to work with different operating systems and infrastructure components such as virtual machines, networks, and application services.
    • Ability to work with databases and data warehouses, data pipelines, ETL tools, big data processing tools.
    • Ability to use languages for querying, manipulating, and processing data such as SQL, Python, Java and R.
    • Ability to use languages for automating repetitive operational tasks Shell and Scripting languages, such as Unix/Linux Shell, and PowerShell,.
    • Understanding of areas of data quality, privacy, security, and governance.
  • Nice to have:
    • Ability to convert business requirements into technical specifications
    • Understanding of the software development lifecycle
    • Mathematics and Statistics experience
      • Random variables distributions, sampling and confidence intervals.
      • Data Visualization
    • HTTP(S)/TCP/IP and Video Applications understanding.
    • Hacking Skills:
      • IP Tools (PCAP manipulation and analysis with Wireshark, tcptrace, etc…)
      • Ability to drill down further in the data analysis using off-the-shelf tools (R, Python, SQL, Excel, Qlik, Tableau, etc…)
    • Soft Skills include interpersonal skills, the ability to work collaboratively, teamwork, and effective communication.

Data Scientist trainee:

  • Priorities:
    • Ability to prepare data for effective analysis
    • Ability to leverage self-service analytics platforms
    • Ability to share results through self-service dashboards or applications
    • Ability to write efficient and maintainable code
    • Ability to apply math and statistics appropriately
    • Ability to leverage machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI)
    • Soft Skills include interpersonal skills, the ability to work collaboratively, teamwork, and effective communication.
  • Nice to have:
    • Ability to convert business requirements into technical specifications
    • Understanding of the software development lifecycle,
    • HTTP(S)/TCP/IP and Video Applications understanding.
